Strangling Vine Lace Scarf

This scarf is another one of my first lacy projects.  The pattern is Strangling Vine Lace Scarf by Nicole Hindes.  The pattern is free, all the designer asks is that you do a random act of kindness.

Lace scarf, knit lace, silk scarf, silk lace, Lang Yarns

I had been browsing a yarn store, and Lang Yarns Asia caught my eye.  I didn't know what I wanted to do with it, but I knew I needed it.  This yarn is 70% silk and 30% yak.  I have since lost the label, so I am unsure of the name of the colorway.  It isn't quite as bright as the picture shows.  It is more of a muted purple.  The yarn has a very nice drape to it.

The pattern appears to be more complicated than it is.  It's a four row repeat that is easily memorized.   I used US 4 needles.  Since I was knitting with silk, I wanted to use wood needles.  I had recently purchased a set of straight Lykke needles.  If you are unfamiliar with Lykke, they are made of birch wood. and are very smooth.  I use circulars for a majority of my projects, but with something this small of width, I use straights more often.

Thank you for stopping by Yarn and Purls.
